The story of Adam & Eve is a myth. If you really pay attention, it shows that God is not merely vengeful, but incredibly irresponsible. Putting the Tree of Knowledge within easy reach of two innocents is like leaving a loaded gun with no trigger lock where a toddler can find it. No amount of lecturing a two-year-old will keep her from touching something dangerous - small children do not understand consequences. Neither did the naive inhabitants of the Garden of Eden.

Forgiveness doesn't mean man can do anything without bearing the responsibilty.
Moreover, the lesson of God cannot be taken with millions of questions based on the hearsay, such as:
Why so many religions?
Why believing in invisible things?
Why people don't love each other?...
In order to know the physical world, we must embark on studying physical matters, reading books, seeking for teachres...For spiritual matters, we must study the spirutal matters and so on. We cannot say that we have no time or no interest. This is not the age of darkness, it is the age of light, with all information available on the Internet.
Each man can conduct a better life only with his own conscious knowledge through education.

You say you know the story I doubt it very much, the story of Adam and Eve is nothing like the story book you say you know. it might be an idea to think before you ask a question the reason i say this is you are taking the words that were written many years ago as the whole truth and written by men who know what they were talking about, think about it for a moment, would you have been able to understand in those days, no so you wrote the words which you thought others would understand, Adam and Eve is not about two people it's far greater than that, as they say read between the lines, there's far more there than you will ever know.
you say you don't believe in God, OK so how can you challenge people over something you don't believe in, you must have some thought of him to be able to do so, otherwise you could not ask such questions, and prove he does not exist, you can't no one can no matter what is said

Only forgiving is some times not good as God is also the ultimate Wise, there was a reason behind it even God knows better, that Adam & Eve would not able to enjoy sex and extend there generation in paradise.

If your kid burned down your garage, you love him so I am sure you would forgive him, but would you really let it go without any punishment at all? Would there be no consequence for his action? And if so, do you think he would learn anything by getting away with it? He would probably burn the next garage down, too.
The world has changed since the Garden, but people haven't changed all that much, and today even though you may repent for a sin committed, you will probably still have to face whatever consequence there is for your actions. As far as God having a temper, if you read scripture, yes, he certainly does. He has emotions like you and me. He is our closest relative, our Father. And, scripture is quite clear that when he returns this next time, it will not be to be nailed to a cross; nope, he's coming back with a rod of iron, for correction. A Father who loves his children corrects them.

Because God is Just. Pure justice demands payment for wrong doing. We can forgive others because we are not truly just. For God to act like man never sinned would go against His very nature. So, because God is just, He demands payment, which is death. However, God is also merciful, and He provided His only Son as a perfect sacrifice. God will not force anyone to accept this, but Justice will be done. We either stand with Jesus as our payment or we stand on our own righteousness for our payment.

Adam and Eve were removed from the Garden to prevent them from eating of the Tree of Life which would have set them in their sinful state forever, with no chance of redemption or re-creation. The Fall was a fall from immortality to mortality, which was the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge.

If you owned a company and someone broke your company regulations (rules)...you might personally forgive them for whatever they did but in order to run the company impartially and maintain your credibility you might have to fire that person. (make them leave the garden) And to show that your rules actually would make a better company you would continue with the rules (10 commandments) and the consequences for breaking them (firing them/death). It does not mean that you have a "temper"...it just means that you intend for your rules to be followed with good reason.

There are consequences to sin. They got the boot because they disobeyed God, lied about it and tried to hide. When you commit a sin even though God will forgive you, there are those consequences that just come from the result of sin. You do the crime you, you do the time. I believe that is the expression. Take your medicine and buck up.

They did not repent, instead they tried to hide from God (hard to do). When God busted them Adam blamed Eve, then blamed God for giving Eve to him.
Had he repented we might all still be in the garden.
