You did not give enough information to answer this question. What is your balcolony made of and how big is it? Does it face north/south/east/west? Is there alot of rain,sun? Will watch for you to repost.

Shelter for what purpose? What kind of weather are you dealing with? Do you want it able to slide open? Details make the question easier to answer. Once built an overnight shelter at our cottage it lasted 18 years.
