First of all "Mexican" is NOT a race, it is a nationality. Mexicans consist of ALL races. Mexicans consist of decendants of many nationalities. For example, there are German Mexicans (some who have lived all their lives in Mexico, but still speak German). There are even American Mexicans (decendants of Americans that came to Mexico after the civil war) etc.

Now many Mexicans are Spanish Mexicans and many are Indian Mexicans. The Indian Mexicans are "mixed race" people.

Mexico has been conquered many times (and will probably be conquered many more times before the end of time). The conquerers have left their imprints in the society, culture, and people of Mexico as much as, if not more, then the USA.

Now that you realize your initial errors, where do you get your information that "mostly white Americans have such a problem with every Mexican-and not just the illegals..."?

Ah, pulling the prejudice card. How original.
We don't hate mexicans. We have no problem with legal mexican immigrants. The problem is with mexicans who cross the border illegally. You know those Minute Men who were going around protecting the border? A majority of them are legal mexican immigrants.

And by the way, Mexicans were NOT here first. Mexicans lived in what is now called central and south america.

You didn't say some you said most, the majority.
This isn't the hatred towards Mexicans, it's the hatred towards illegal immigrants(that includes any race that intrudes into our country).

No racist remarks? What about you?
I guess you make these so called "racist remarks" without realizing it.

Your best answer is what Tiffani wrote. Do not pay attention to what most of the others wrote.Besides why do you need to know why. White people have always hated Mexicans, it did not happen overnight. They like to have somebody to blame their problems. That is the way life is.

My information is from personal experience.I am a 58 year old Mexican-American that grew up in south Texas. All my ancestors are from Texas.

Art ,I forgot to add, white people always think they know everything.

I am with you. The United States is being flooded by people who intend to immigrate, but do it by sneaking in or by presenting fake documents. The USA won't be able to handle this kind of influx for long. Nevertheless, that's not an excuse for racism.
Less-than-intelligent people, many of them right here in Yahoo Answers, have used illegal immigration as a platform to preach their racist beliefs. You have to realize that those people aren't intelligent enough to understand there can be United States citizens of hispanic or african origin. Some of them realize that, but wish that wasn't the case. You know - Hitler may be dead but his spirit lives on.

We are citizens of this country, how dare you talk about us as anything but citizens. I do not want to hear the word immigrant associated with my family, we are not immigrants. Why are we expected to ignore the hispanic influx of illegals and pretend like its another ethnic group causing the problem? Everyone agrees, we are sick of the hispanic invasion. If you do not want people commenting on them, then encourage them to go home.

Immigrants are not snails they do not arrive with their home on their back but often arrive with chips on their shoulders .As a result their attitude is not to become as the people who live in America are and live but to try and better their selves by making it hard to like them because they quickly forget their resons for coming to America and conform to what they left behind while trying to change everything to suit them selves. They came because it is freer They came for health they came for lifestyle and should recognise this and be nice.

Some people are just against illegal immigration. But some others are really racist. Funny thing is that I see more racism in a forum than on the streets. I guess a lot of people are too chicken to say their feelings out loud - they come to a forum and curse at others.

My problem, with any person, whether it be mexican, chinese, indian, etc. is coming to a country and all of a sudden, the country has to conform to them. IE--I should not have to push 1 for English and 2 for Spanish, I should not have to be bilingual to get a job in a country that the language is American, I should not have to have my child have lower school skills because the classrooms have to take the time to cater to children who cannot or WILL not speak American. I am all for any person from another county who wishes to come here and become an American, in speech, actions, etc. My child is trying to become a foreign exchange student and we certainly do not expect the country he goes to, to cater to him. He is going to learn to fit in at that country. So, to all people from other countries who come here, and try to fit in, and not change our America to the same type of country they just left---I am glad to welcome you.
