there is a house that lives on a main street. They dont care for their pets. They have at least 5 older dogs that are getting pregnant, and have puppies. The sad thing, these puppies dont even get to grow up. I always see one in the yard playing, then the next day dead on the street. Its dead on the street right across from their house. They dont pick it up, nor care. The humane society here isnt really a big one, so I dont know what to do. Its just sad to see all those puppies being born, then getting ran over. But then the owners not getting the dogs fixed. There is one more puppie alive...but i will probably see it dead.
thank you, need help

I'm so sorry you have to watch this. First thing I would do is call Animal control, even if they don't respond immediately at least it is a complaint on file. If you can also convince some neighbors to call and complain to AC that would be helpful. Second I would contact the Humane Society and report it to them also. Third I would contact a breed rescue in you area, Do you know what breed they are? If not it's ok call one similar to it and ask them for help. Rescues are usually more helpful than shelters in this type of situation.
If none of this gets results you might even think about contacting your local media stations...that usually gets results.
Is the puppy in a fenced yard or is it just running loose? If it's loose I'd suggest you catch it and bring it to a shelter as a stray, it'll have a better chance. Thank you for being so concerned, we need more people like you. Good luck :)

Call the police , maybe they can fine these people or give them a citation to go in front of a judge. There's a possibility they don't even have license for these dog. The call you make has to be confidential so they won't know you did it.See if any dog rescues can do anything. Try calling the human society. People like that make me sick. I'm glad I don't live where you do and have to see this.... I'd either be in jail myself, kicking some a** or getting my a** kicked. I'd have to do something.....anything!!! Good luck, I hope you're able to get something done for these dogs and get the owners some sort of punishment. Maybe they'll be ordered not to own any more dogs and the ones they have now will be taken away from them. Merry Christmas to you. Don't give up on the dogs!!!!

if it were me i would take the pup and take it to you local humane society your self. I;d call them 1st and tell them about the pup.If you don't feel comfortable doing that then just call the police they will be ble to tell you who you can contact. There is , more than likely a leash law, in your area so at least they will have to put t on a chain. But i would do all i could to get the pups and the mommies away from those people.if they ever leave the yard call animal control asap. They will be taken to the pound but at least they will have a chance to live.....and at a great life like they deserve.

I think you should go over to the house and without even asking, just takes the puppy, because they obviously don't care, and you can either keep it for yourself or you can give it to the communities animal shelter. Just get him out of there as fast as you can and then call the humane society and maybe they will do something. Good luck and I hope you have a Merry Christmas.

POOR PUPPIES! How very sad!
It is animal control you want to call. No one wants to see dogs go to animal control, but it sounds like a better option for these dogs than what is going on now.
You may also try to call the police. Most counties have leash laws, and these people obviously are not obeying.

The best thing I would think to do is first call the police and report them for animal abuse, call animal control, call the spca. One of these groups should be able to do something. That is so sad. People like this should not even be allowed to own any kind of animal. Good Luck! If we don't help these poor animals, then who will!

Please call the Humane Society or call the Police. What is happening is pure cruelty. I am so saddened by your story. If the two above people do not help then don't stop there. Call the biggest Humane Society in the next biggest city. Something has to be done. These people do not need pets and need to be fined to the extreme. How very sad for you to witness this. Please do all that you can to stop this. If you have to write the Governor, then so be it. No one needs to witness this atrocity.

Sounds like my neighbors, they're disgusting and inbred. I'd call the health dept, if not them call a local news paper or TV station and let them know about how these people just let their dogs run amok and the local humane society doesn't care. That is terrible!
If you see the pups, can you try to rescue them or something? These losers should get their dogs (and themselves) Fixed!

Have you called the Humane Society that you mention? It may not be big but that may be a plus because then they may do something sooner. Ask them where to report this so that someone can do something about this. Do you have a local bureau of Animal Control? They usually have officers that check out this kind of report.
