It's not really a rip off. Nobody around King Constantinople knew about Jesus' birthday and not even those who started the movement about Christ. Jesus came to his popularity when he was about 32 and only his age from nativity and event at 12 years old was recorded. This was just a rebellious group of Christian religion where the King was to declare it to be the official religion because they can no longer control its growth. In fact, it was well over many years after he declared it that the King who was dying on his bed that he decided to be converted into Catholicism. Jesus birthday was only made to that date because of their effort to deviate people's attention to Jewish Hannukah or the celebration of the passover. Also it was made to coincide with pagan festivities in honor of a Roman deity named Mithra whom they believe was born in the same manner as Jesus (virgin birth). The plan was to make Jesus appear as God that took human form and went down to earth. Besides, if they make the celebration on the real assumed b-day of Jesus, chances are his birth and his death could be celebrated in the same day based on the cycle of the moon.

Wake up mate>>>everyone knows that December 25th was a great Roman celebration for the ancient Pagan Roman God. The pagans became Christians and made Jesus their new God. So? Everyone knows this.
One more thing...it wasen't a roman King that changed this...it was the catholic leaders.

That is true! But, is a day thats been set aside, to remember and honor the birth of Chirst.
It's just that Santa, Flying Raindeers, and Flying Sleigh, and the North Poll, is for the ringing of the Cash-registers.

You are right that Jesus was not born on December 25. (He was born on April 6, by the way.) But it's appropriate to celebrate Him at any time of year.

Nope. Nobody's ever heard of Constantine, so nobody knows what he declared. Who cares? Just sit back and toast Saturnalia.

That´s OK with me, all I need to know is that He died for me and for my sins some 2000 years ago. The exact date of his birth? I don´t really need it man.
