I think the difference between 18 and 30 is too large. This same situation (between two females) existed in my school and the teacher was fired.
To me I would have to know what would be the best outcome for the student. If the teacher is fired, then word gets around that it is because of the student and that may be more hard on the student than what has already occurred.
However, I'm not sure that I want to contribute to creating a society in which it is okay for teachers to create sexual relationships with students.
When I think of my own kids, I don't think I'd like them with 30 year olds when they are 18.

As a teacher you assume the role of Parentus Loci, or that of the parent in that parents absence. To have an affair with your student, even if they are above the age of 18 is gross misconduct, and highly un-professional, and the teacher should resign, or the student leave her tution, for it is not good for the rest of the class she teaches.
On a personal note I think she should be publically humiliated, and removed from ever teaching again.

Legally, no. different smart, particular. guy and woman relationship is acceptable. there is been a minimum of two circumstances of a woman instructor who had an affair with a student and ended up marrying the student, some years later. It does not have been interior the information, the two time, had it been criminal.

School officials should probably be notified. Even if they really love each other, the relationship will inteffere with the learning process which is the point of the teacher-student relationship.

I would ask if I could join in! That's hott! But why is an 18 year old still in highschool? If she's in college, it's ok, nothing illeglal there either way, as the student is 18.
