Unlike English, the German language makes use of gender. For example, "the" is der (M), die (F), das (N), and die (plural) depending on the gender and plurality of the noun. "If" is wenn, "like" is wie....

What other words would you like to know? Search "Babel Fish" for a quick on-line translator. It is fairly good for individual words, but you have to know the language; it does not always translate phrases properly and misses idioms.

The problem with the word "THE" is that there are THREE words for the. Der, Die, and Das. The masculine feminine and neutral forms. The first real word I think of is drache - means kite or dragon.

Why do you need these particular words rather than phrases? As a teacher this doesn't make sense. If you want to learn German there are several online options. Try BBC Education !

Hey, Brutal_Yet_Beautiful, that’s way too simple.
Rammstein songs are certainly no reference for good German!

will is not will, it is der Wille or werden (future)
Reise is not rise, it is the journey
Luste is nothing, it is die Lust = the desire
reichst is not smell: du riechst = you smell, du reichst = you hand (over)
So, your mastery of German is sufficient, but keep going!!!

To DIPAYAN B:
if = wenn, falls
like = wie
often = oft
but = aber
though = jedoch etc

there are so many of these words, specify please!!!
Merry Christmas

Be more precise . What do you really want to know ?
Do you want to know a few adjectives in order to be
able to describe your loved one who happens tobe from
Germany ?
Do you need a few technical terms (mainly nouns) in
a certain context such as economics, engeniering,...
Do you want to be able to designate certain activities in
German like : scheissen (to **** ) , reissen (to tear ) ,
or reisen (to travel) )

Or are you rather interested in terms that sort of
structure the sentence by determing the functions
of the terms and between them, which would be
mostly grammar oriented "words" p.ex. conjunctions:
weil (because), obwohl (although, even though) .....

What are you interested in ?
