I agree with aurora and I am LDS also. I wouldn't vote for someone based just on his religion but where he stands on the issues I believe in.
Even JFK had the same problems back in 1960 when he ran for President. If he can show the people that his religion didn't run him in his business then Romney could do just as well.
From what I have heard he has done pretty good for Michigan and even did a great job with the organization of the 2002
Olympics.
Besides there is nothing in the Constitution that says a President has to be a particular religion, and that we are not supposed to vote based on religion. but on where the candidate stands on the issues.
We do need to get more honesty and integrity back into Politics.
People need to read what Koffe Annon[spelling] or whatever his name is, the outgoing UN leader says about the US. He said the American people need to go back to their basics and morals of what the original writers of the Constitution stood for before they push their ideas on the rest of the world.

Just the cross we have to bear, I suppose. I saw a sign on a Mormon church nearby my home, and I realized something new. I knew that Church of the Latter Day Saints was the correct title for their religion, but I always thought it was because their saints were from recent times. But Their sign was also in Spanish, and for Latter Day, they used the phrase los últimos meaning the LAST DAYS. So it seems that they are apocalyptic in their outlook. On the other hand, all of the Mormons I have known have been good decent people, so who knows.

Quite frankly, I don't care if he's Mormon or not. I'm mormon, and i won't vote for him simply because we share a religion. I'll vote on how good of a president he will be for us. From what i've read, he's done good for Massachusettes, so maybe he'll do good for the nation.
Oh, "Mormanism" is NOT a cult and we are NOT polygamists. In general, Mormons tend to be really good people. When meet someone and they find out I'm Mormon, the first thing they say to me is that more people should be Mormon, because we tend to be clean upstanding people who stick to our morals. Quite frankly, we need more politicians who have morals if you ask me.
Anyone have any questions about Mormons, just email me.

Firstly, Romney is not a fanatic and is very much more educated and qualified to be president than Bush. Secondly, religion means nothing when it comes to selecting a president. Muslim, Catholic, Buddhist, Hindu, Mormon . . . who cares. A good, upstanding, honest person is a good, upstanding, honest person. No matter the religion. That is what we need in office, regardless of religious preference.

If religious belief is how you decide who should be President, then you shouldn't be allowed to vote. I like Mitt. He seems like a decent guy, a man of conviction. He also was able to win as a Republican in a very Democratic state. Maybe he will be able to unite this country. Isn't that important?
God Bless and Merry Christmas.

A better question to ask would be "Is this PERSON for president a good idea?" All of us are a lot more than *just* our religious affiliation and your vote should be given to the individual who, in your opinion, presents the best total package.

Doesn't bother me. Actions speak louder than words. Most presidents will not have the same religion as those who vote for them; there are just so many religions plus atheists in America. In politics policies, past and present, are what we should decide on.

I wouldn't mind . I don't know alot about them but they are clean living individuals and seem to be wholesome which is the most important thing we need in a leader.
