I'm with you on this one. I don't believe God exists either, but *if* he did, then yes, he would have to be an Evil Monster!
Just have a read of the Old Testament. He committed genocide so many times it's frightening! And not just whole cities, he wiped out the entire population of the world in the Noah story.
Yup, He's the worst mass murderer in history.
And these people *worship* him?
Blimey!

I think your question can only be answered satisfactorily from the standpoint of NO free will, i.e. God created man good, but man sinned and lost the ability to choose God, and now has only the ability to reject him. It is the sinful nature of man that has condemned the entire human race except for the ones that God has elected to salvation. Everyone, pedophiles included, stand completely guilty before the Lord. This does not make it the Lord's fault for man's sin! Of course the question than becomes why God would allow the perpetuation of a sinful human race that may as well be wiped out. The only answer I can give to this is that God gets to decide how he runs his universe, we don't get to make these decisions for him. Is God evil? No. But neither is everyone saved. God gets to choose who gets to have a relationship with him.

How can he train us to use free will it wouldn't be free will, you don't make sense, but back to your question, man always looks to blame God for his own doing, if you take the time to look closer at man,and lets forget about God for the moment. The evil man does is down to greed, and power, he uses religion to control others, to make a profit, man created paedophiles, no one else, man made war, man made poverty, man made crime, and if you had any idea of how many kids are locked up because of the greed of society you would be surprised, at that my friend i know because i work with them.
So back to God, why should he clean up our mess, when we didn't want him in the first place, and then always blame him, the only time some people call on God is when your in need.
Love & Peace

Blaming God is a way out nor blaming anyone for that matter.A
person should take full responsibility for their actions. We were created by God, given a brain to make our own decisions, why would God create us and then tell us what we can and cannot do? God gave us everything thing we need to live but we have to make our own life. God gave us choices, freedom, and a great mind and body. Let's be thankful for all that this Supreme Being gave us. Stop blaming God and start blaming the right person who is in charge of his own actions. We are here for a reason and we must try to do good for ourselves and others.

No, I do not agree ;
how can you say God is evil!!!
( or not come to that )
There is something inherant ,in man, that has a capacity for evil.
Even as far back as the Garden of Eden .
But we also have the capacity ,to do much that is good
And there are many examples of people who have .
God even allowed his own son, to die on the cross for us
as an reminder , to forgive and sin no more .
I realise that was maybe not enough ,
God is not a dictator , but a father who see's all.
he will judge those, who do wrong in time . not us .
I hope you have a Happy and peacefull Christmas

yes god gave free will but he also intended people to work. without bad people in the world there would be no place for police men/women, lawyers, prison guards, executioners, etc etc. if god was evil technically he would have created a boring world where no1 worked and everyone died of boredom and there was no enjoyment or sadness to life and he would be laughing saying how stupid we all look. God works therefore we should and that is probably why he created paedophiles. For jobs, for opinions

Why would God be evil because he gave people free will? This life is a test to see whether people CHOOSE to do the right or the wrong thing, so obviously if people aren't given free will, they can't choose to do these things, then everyone would be perfect, and then what? How would we know who's good and who's bad, and who is going to heaven and who is going to hell? It just does not make sense that God is evil because of this.

The free will thing is the answer to this. And God is outside of time so he sees what will ultimately happen at the same time as he sees what we are doing in time. To every action there is an outcome, and sin in the world is by invitation of man. We are responsible for our own actions not God. How ever we are responsible to him and can reconcile to him if we want to. Evil men/woman seem to be amoral and this I think is apart from the old sin nature. It's a choice people take and justify with inappropriate reasons. Their actions will have consequences, sometimes in this life but not always.

Our very existence depends on balance .... balance is everywhere in our lives, the weather, people's finances, work ethics ... even balance in the biochemistry and physiology that keeps our bodies running smoothly every day. And so it is with good and bad in the human psyche ..... we would never know what good is unless we have bad in comparison. And badness is by no means restricted to paedophilia, is it? By considering that God may be evil is like saying that he gives licence to commit atrocious acts such as paedophilia. IF God was all powerful then he would eradicate paedophilia, wouldn't he? Along with murder, rape, hurt, disease, cancer, destruction, fanaticism ... the list goes on. We are not wind up soldiers ..... we are wonderful creations where free will gives us more wonders ..... technology, advances in medicine. If we believe there is a purpose in life, then human struggle and endeavour must be top of the list. BUt nothing is perfect, and humans are anything but ..... hence the deviation that occurs in some and they end up perverts ..... in line with fanatics, murderers and tyrants. Paedophilia is simply an extreme of perversion .... gross though it may be, it can be simply summed up in the phrase 's*it happens' ...... Life is a precious, precious gift ... but to have it we have to accept perversion and deal with it as we go along. God has given us life, extremities of behaviour are simply beyong his remit at this moment in time. So no, God is not evil .... just not in total control.

I have to laugh at the comments about people saying they don't believe in God and then they contradict themselves by saying he is evil. If he made men witout the ability to choose evil they would not truly have a free choice. He has provided many means for men to be good so you can't blame him for the choices people make. People need to take responsibility for their own lives and choices and not blame God for whatever is wrong with their lives. Again with out a choice we would be a mere automoton.
