when i was about 9 or 10 years old, my parents always used to yell at me for being too shy and not socializing with the kids in my class. but i at least used to smile and be polite and participate in class. and the other kids in my class class thought i was quiet, but friendly. now by younger brother on the other hand WAS A LOT WORSE at that age. he never used to say a single word, never used to smile, or be polite, and never participated in class. he always had a sad and gloomy face, and practically was silent. my parents NEVER yelled at him for this. why is this so? it's really not fair.

Your parents may have had a double standard and are often easier on the yournger child.

How old is your brother now. What you describe may be a form of autism. I am not an expert but my nephew has a form of autism and it is believed to be genetic. My younger brother was very much like what you described. You might consider evaluation for you and your brother.

They have come to realize that it doesn't work and it was wrong to do it to you, but you can't go back and change history. They are NOT making the same mistake twice. sometimes it's better to be the baby of the family. They have made all their mistakes on the older ones(and hopefully learned from them)

two reasons, maybe because they realized a mistake in making you be social, and maybe because he's a boy. Girls are just naturally (or the stereotype is at least) more social than boys.

sometimes when the female ( like your mom ) is more dominant than they sub conciously teach the daughter to be this way too.. and if the male ( your father ) is more quiet than maybe this also sub concioulsy would be accepted by your parents for their son to be that way

Maybe they realised they made a mistake in trying to force confidence like that.

IF YOUR THE OLDEST PARENTS, TRY THE HARDEST I THINK, THEN THEY'RE MORE RELAXED WITH THE REST OF THE KIDS. SORRY ABOUT THAT.
