Omg! I have the same problem! Well, first of all do some research on him...and I don't mean you have to be a stalker! Just find out what he likes. Is he into sports? Find out what his favorite team is...who knows it might be your fave team too. And if it isn't who cares. You don't have to like all the same things as your crush & you shouldn't have to change yourself for a guy. And don't agree with everything he says. Guys find that a little annoying because they like girls with their own opinions. So just be yourself.

Okay I'm in the same grade as you and my crush happens to be a very good friend of mine so I think I can help you. For simple topics bring up homework,school life, teachers etc. or you can ask him for help with things. Then when you start to get to know him better you can start asking him about his interests sports,music,drama etc. And to be his friend just be yourself it's to hard to put on act all the time. You can tease him, but be nice and don't hurt his feelings too much. You'll end up being friends by just being open,approachable, [remember that body language is important no crossed arms]and nice. Well you have topics to talk to him about but it is your emotions. If you just liked the guy and he was your friend then you would be able to talk about most anything with him. So what you need to consider is to just relax, talk to him about what ever you like. He will respond in kind believe it or not he is just as nervous as you are. So talk about school, homework, activities after and during school. Talk about your team at school and how well or poorly they are doing. If he is in the sports team, then build him up about the good things he did or how well he was there to support his team even if he didn't play. There are many topics you can talk to him about. Just take a deep breathe, exhale and just chat with him. Try it.

ask for help on a hw assignment and then go from there. it really works!!
after that, just ask him how is day's going and if he's doing anything fun over the weekend or whatever.

you need to ask him if you could sit with him at lunch or write a note to him. trust me girl i know how you feel i have this boy i like and me and

im in 9th grade and in a similar situation. Just be like "so, what'd you do over break....i went and saw this movie....what kinda movies do you like?.....oh i love those kind!.....did you see this one?......" and go from there.
