Turn his parents in for abandonment and reckless endangerment toward a minor. Then he can kick his parents out of HIS house.

depending on the state... Here in TX a kid can leave at 17 but can not be kicked out at 17.. funny huh, But if he is 18 and parents kick him out they cant they would have to get a court ordered for him to vacate and this takes 30 plus days. If he is say 12 13 14 15 16... go to the police. Their are also run away shelters that house run aways. In new Orleans there is a place on north ramport called covenant house. Might have some place like that where you are. Also if the parents are arrested for say neglect. Your friend could end up in a foster home until his or her 18th birthday. Good luck!

In any state, your parents are LEGALLY responsible for you till you are 18. Like it or not, they can't just kick you out. They can, however, have YOU placed in foster care or juvenile or some other branch of the establishment. Depends what you did. They can even file criminal charges against you. Better do some thinking.!!! If on the other hand it's a problem your parents have, ie: drugs or whatever, you can go to the police.
