You need to document every time you call animal control, including the name of the person you speak to.

You need to snap date stamped photos of the dog every time it is out of it's yard. This is not limited to just the times it is in your yard, but out period and you see it.

Talk to other neighbors and see if the dog has been in any of their yards, and ask them to right up a statement and/or to call animal control as well.

Have you talked to the neighbor? You can explain to them that you are worried about the safety of their dog, tell them that he has been getting out frequently, has been in your yard and loose, and you fear that he may get hit by a care or stolen. Tell them if he is diggin under/climbing over the fence, they can purchase an electric wire fence from Home Depot or Lowe's relatively cheap, and install it...this will keep the dog in their yard.

If you have pets yourself, tell the owner that you fear for your pet's safety, as dog/animal aggression is common in pitbulls.

Feel free to give them my website address, and I can give them some other ideas to work with their dog, so that you and they can all be happy and live in peace.

If they are unwilling to change, and don't care about the situation, even after you have given them a chance, and you can't get animal control to come out, then I suggest catching the dog and driving them to animal control, telling them you found him loose and you don't know who he belongs to.

DO NOT just drive this dog somewhere and drop it off!! This is dangerous! By doing so, you will cause a great risk of this dog injuring or killing someone's pet or livestock, and dogs of any breed left to fend for themselves can and will become aggressive and attack/kill children and or adults. So driving this dog out to a secluded area is NOT the answer! Dogs can travel great distances, and will find civilization and this is a recipe for disaster!!!

Good luck! I hope that I can be of more help to you!

I have had this problem recently. I as well have 3 pitbulls, thank goodness they are friendly to other animals or they wouldve killed it, instead it was coming in the doggie door with them every few days. I told my neighbor several times. I finally took it to animal control myself and told them the issue. They fined the owner and it has to be chained in the back yard or kept in the house. If it gets out once more it will be kept from them. I hope this helps.

Talk to the neighbor. If the neighbor does not cooperate call the police next time he is in your yard causing trouble.

Next time have a camera ready and take pictures of this pit in
your yard....

call animal control again and make sure you document how many
times you've called, who you spoke with, time of day.

If you continue to get no response from animal control call the
police and make sure it's documented.

If anyone is hurt (God forbid) or you have property damage
then you're able to proceed with small claims court to collect
for damages, medical bills, pain and suffering etc....

Have you spoken to your neighbor about the problem?

You say you have called animal control... are they doing anything?

It would really help to have more details.

This is the kind of thing pit bull owners hate to hear. It is owners like this that casue the rest of us to fight for our pets. call the aspca, see if there is a pit bull recuse in your town. Give me your neighbor phone numberr I will call him and give him a ear full.

capture the dog when it gets into your yard.
take it to the pound.
when the owner asks you anything about the dog, just say you didnt know it belonged to them and that you found it in the yard.
say u didnt see the dog's ID because it was too figity.
and u were afraid it may atack u.
this idea might actually work...
