Narrow-minded question.
Amnesty: Possibly, considering the terms.
Militarize the border: It already is... more than this would be more than we can afford to pay. The fact is that a better solution would be to create some jobs in Mexico (as people sending money back to their families would surely prefer to actually BE WITH their families) and give people the option: come get a job through this relocation program or risk deportation. This is a good compromise, I think, and recognizes the fact that people are coming to the U.S. because there is a humanitarian crisis, while not simply allowing them to do so... creating some work projects in Mexico for them to do would cost less than militarizing the border and hunting them down.
Simply saying Amnesty or Militarization is not looking for any other possible solutions.

All my answers get thumbs down because I remind Americans that they are no longer what they used to be. Gone are the days of American Ingenuity. Gone are the days when being white was the only requirement to get a good job. Toyota will surpass your beloved GM by the end of next year. A major Japanese automobile company refused to build a plant in the south despite tax breaks for no reason other than hillbillies being too stupid to spell their name correctly on the job application. What happened to the great Americans of the past? Even a little war pitting guns vs. rocks has been proven to be a failure. Instead of whining like little girls, go grow a brain and notice that you are the failures that are bring down this great nation.

Amnesty: NO
Militarize the border: YES
Why would we ever repeat the mistake of granting amnesty to these invaders? That would be the same as basically opening up the borders. Let's reward these jackasses for sneaking into our country right?
We should start a new volunteer branch of the US military whose goal is ONLY to secure the US boarders. I would enlist in a heartbeat and so would many others.

LOL. Your theory is too funny! -- You can have all the anti-illegals here in Yahoo! Answers, but nothing is going to change what's happening outside of this cyberspace.
But to answer your questions:
Amnesty: No, but I do believe that temporary working visas is a good solution.
Militarize the border: Sure - better than having troops in Iraq for nothing.

1. I didn't know the battleground was Yahoo Answers. Glad you told me that's how our elected representatives decide immigration policy. I'll post here more often.
2. Since when does clicking a box with a thumb make something right or wrong?
3. Wow just look at those horrible invaders that watch our children, clean our houses, do our gardening, cook our meals, wash our dishes, pick our crops. Funny invaders those.
4. Let me know if YOU are calling for violence. People who do THAT are the ones I don't want in my country (or Yahoo answers).
5. I hope you don't think this is a scientific vote.
6. Definite amnesty for anyone who came here as a child. Amnesty for anyone else who has not broken any OTHER laws and files back taxes.
7. No. More important to use the troops to go fight Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaida. Anyone remember them? Hint: they were NOT from Mexico.

Amnesty: Yes, I think so. It would be a huge pain to try to kick everyone out. It would be a waste of time and resources. It would also split up families. Some illegal parents have had children on US soil. The children are US citizens as stated by the Constitution. I'm more against splitting up families than closing the borders.
Militarize the border: Yes. I think that there is a huge problem with immigration in the country. I think that building a huge fence is ridiculous. It would cause environmental problems including, but not limited to, the extinction of several animals. I'd rather see people living illegally than species dying out. On the other hand, it wouldn't hurt to fund the INS more and give them more manpower in order to help stop illegal immigration. We also need to fund whoever authorizes the right to work. A lot of illegal immigrants have applied for US citizenship, but there is a ten year waiting list. They may be illegal now, but ten years from now, they will be legal because they HAVE applied and are waiting for the paperwork to go through. If we could speed up that process, it would help immensely as well.

no to amnesty and yes to protecting our southern border. ANYONE that is for amnesty, need to have criminals in this country to make money off them at the expense and integrity of non criminals, legals under the law. The Minute Men is a good organization to log on to for up dates and truths about what our gov. is not doing to stop crime in America.

Definitely militarize the border.
They should also have an electric fence so they can't climb over.

Amnesty--absolutely NOT
Militarize the border-- YES! After all, that's what our troops are for. The National Guard is to protect the USA and it's past time that our borders are enforced.
