Not really, but this kind of words are just usually in "cholos" or "pachucos" conversations, so when you use this word they could think that you are in a gang, and maybe carry you some problems. I hope I be enough clearly, cause my english is on the floor. Bye, bye, sweetie.

Calling a Mexican that isn't bad because "ese: used in the manner you're talking about is not Mexican and they wouldn't understand it's meaning, unless they'd been exposed to the chicanos, cholos, or pachucos of the southwest and California. It's a term I hate. It shows an extreme deterioration of the language, but that's my prejudice. Most Mexicans won't have the slightest idea what you mean if you use it in that manner.

I'm fairly fluent in Mexican Spanish.
