Hi,
True, most true, or I would not be communicating with you.
But I could mention a few others that have cropped up in my lifetime so far -
The electric shaver. - I used to scratch my face to pieces with some horribly sharp blade.
The mobile phone - I remember shoving coins into slots in a red box on the street.
Travel - I thought it was great to go from Newcastle to Aunt Pollie's in Frinton. Now I go to New York as if it is a bus trip.
Digital TV? I remember two channels in monochrome.
Oh dear, I am only 51, with long hippy hair, play in a band, - oh there is another one, instead of a piano, our man on keyboard has a Yamaha PSR something but look what has happened !
My guitar has changed from a Jedson to a Gibson.
My car is no longer an Orange Mk 2 Cortina, it is a Trans-Am.
I should have a word with NASA about a trip around the planet.
Oh dear - Merry Whatnots to you & yours.
Bob

Just as a matter of clarification, the Internet, which is a bunch of interconnected computer networks, traces its origin back to the 50's. I know it was certainly operational in the 80's which is when I first accessed it.
I think you may be thinking of the World Wide Web which is a bunch of linked documents available *through* the Internet. That came about in 1990 or so. The first web browsers like Netscape and Mosaic came out sometime in the mid-1990's. However, the Internet itself has been around a long time.
And no, Al Gore didn't invent it.

The mobile phone. Before that, you had to queue up a a phone box in the rain or not speak to anyone AND they had to be home to answer the phone. Now, you can be in a car and speak to someone who's on a train - it's amazing!

Digital Camera.
Now you can see if you have taken a crap shot and erase it rather than wait a week, pay a fortune, and throw them away!
