I want something not to expensive but gives spectaculor pictures.

This camera gets good reviews, so may be good for you if you like the feel, size, etc.

Some people do not like the fact that it has only the LCD screen to use to frame the pics when you take them. There is no traditional small viewfinder.

If you don't mind a slightly bigger camera, last year's Canon S2 IS is still available for about the same price as the camera you asked about. It is in the "ultra-zoom" class, with a 12x zoom and image stabilization. The reviews are excellent and my daughter gets very good results with hers.

I wish it had an optical viewfinder, but otherwise, it seems pretty nice. Go to this page and click on the links to read the in-depth review and also read owners opinions. It seems like it's maybe a little "noisy," but this may be offset by other features. Note that this is for the TZ1 and not the TZ1K, so there may be upgrades not accounted for in this review. I am not personally familiar with the camera.

the 10x optical zoom function is good enough.
