Yes, there was a time when God thought parents should kill their children if the cursed at them...as found in Exodus.

But then he decided to have his own son tortured and killed so the rules could change

Hello =)

I'm answering this from an intellectual standpoint, and not one of faith, but:

I don't think it is possible to know what the "morals" of God are.

Who are we to know the mind of God?

They certainly were his desires for his people to follow, but whether that was a moral choice for him, common sense, or a wish for their safety, I don't know....you'd have to ask God, whom I don't believe in, so it makes it an impossibility to me.....

I don't think, but again, who am I to know the mind of a God I don't believe in, that prohibiting the eating of Rock Badger had anything to do with a great sense of morality......I think it was more a desire for his people to be safe, and not die of food poisoning, but that's just my take on it..

Namaste,

--Tom

Everything recorded in the Bible is not acceptable behavior by God. We are under the new covenant. No need to sacrifice animals and stuff like that. The New Testament is about Christ, and what is His role. The perfect example.

You might feel god about yourself when you compare yourself to a bad example, but it humbles you when you compare yourself to a perfect example, Jesus Christ. We all have a lot to learn.

God's morals have been always good. He is God, He can do how He pleases. We might not like it, but what good it is doing for us when we rebel against God. We are under the new covenant now.

Yes, but the Old Testament is a history book. Everything changed when Jesus Christ came to earth and was crucified for our sins. The two commandments in the New Testament are how we should live our lives today.
