They are using the express email computer and basically talking loud, swearing at each other and belching. The libriarians don't say anything, I don't know if I should step in, ignore them or what to do?

Btw they are about grade school age to middle school. Thanks for your suggestions, I did say "Shhh" and they just looked at me, then I turned around and just looked, (usually works) now they are gone.

That has become a HUGE problem everywhere. School kids are using library computers to play online games and are OBNOXIOUS.
I have found that the only thing that is even remotely effective is to speak up to a librarian, and insist that they do something about it. It is common knowledge that a library is supposed to be QUIET.

I think you should do something if the kids are disturbing others, If there not just tell them to stop swearing becasue little kids might come in and hear (it depends what grade the are in). Say some thing like. " Hi I want to read and well you are kind of bothering me, so can you please talk a little softer. Or just tell the librarian.

First, I would say to them - "This is a Library, you need to keep it down a bit okay?" If they ignore you I would complain to the Librarian - If they do nothing I would complain LOUDLY to the Librarian once again and ask to speak to her supervisor.

Find their parents and give them the dirtiest looks, and if they don't get it complain to them. If that doesn't work tell the librarian and if they don't say anything go up to the kid's yourself and tell them they need to knock it off.
Also, I once heard of the teacher making the boy sit still by saying that if he didn't, she would have to kiss him. Reportedly, he didnt move the rest of the assembly.

I would say something to the librarian. He or she shouldn't have a problem stepping in and telling them to please be quieter...it is their job after all to maintain the library.
If they do not do anything, by all means politely asking someone to keep it down would be perfectly acceptable. You are their to enjoy the solitude, and they are being disruptive.

Tell the librarian, and insist that he or she take care of the problem.
Don't approach them yourself. Interfering with someone else's children is an invitation to conflict.

Complain to the librarians. It's their job to see that the library is running smoothly.

Yes, but very quietly. Just press your finger to your lips and give them a reproving look. Just a gentle reminder.
