I have been in an impatient hospitalization once, and it was for about a week. I went a little stir crazy. At that time, I hadn't yet been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder...I just knew something was wrong. I believe I was diagnosed with Panic Disorder and OCD. It was annoying being in one place all the time, and visiting hours were only 1 hour a day which stunk, but it actually wasn't all that bad. We had a few group sessions a day, and the people who were in there when I was, they were all very nice. We had art therapy, and played games, and worked on our problems. So that wasn't too bad.

Then I was in an outpatient program- 5 fifty minute group therapy sessions a day. It was boring, and very annoying because the same people kept telling the same stories, and I could never get a word in, so I couldn't tell my story.

So NOW, after cutting myself reaaaally badly which I regret, I am in another outpatient care facility. This is where they finally realized I was Bipolar 2, and now looking back, it all makes sense. But this place is nice, I really like it. They have educational groups, and there is alot of variety. Today we had "Fun Friday" where alot of people played music and stuff.

i had a boyfriend once who was manic and bipolar. he was in and out of the hospital then and probably still is in and out. his experiences were not good for him most of the time. they locked him by himself on 2 occasions and tried to medicate him severely 2 others. i don't know the outcome because i had to move but i hope it is all ok now. or at least manageable. good luck to you and happy holidays.=)
