A few weeks ago my sister brought home her new boyfriend for Thanksgiving. For some reason the guy have me a creepy feeling. When I found out she planned to bring him back for Christmas I decided to go online and see if I could find any info about him. Well, I entered his name into http://background-records.net/ and it turns out that he is a criminal!

He has been convicted of sexual assault and felony drug possession. If my dad finds out he will be very angry. I don't know if my sister knows about this guys past but I do not want him in our home. What is the best way to get her to leave her boyfriend behind when she comes home this weekend? I would appreciate any advice because I don't know how to handle the situation. Thanks.

I have to agree with blevins' post 100% See if your sister even knows about his past. If she doesn't then it's her decision to make as to how to deal with it. If she does then she has made the decision already. SHE is the one wanting a relationship with him and you really need to respect her enough to accept that. SHE is the one that goes out with him now and anything else that happens in the future. You really just need to accept it. If she is making a mistake it's hers to make, don't push and make the situation worse. Just my opinion...

If you and your sister have a good relationship, maybe you should tell her. Tell her that you found out about this great website and got a little nosy. You started putting in everyone's name that you know just to see what was there. Then tell her what you found. Or, you can tell her about the site and ask if she thought about checking on her beau's past.

How is you relationship with your sister? If it is a good one you should talk to her and tell her what you found out and why you investigated him. Was he looking at you in a inappropriate manner? Did he say something to you which was inappropriate? You need to be careful how you approch the subject however as you could hurt your relationship with your sister. Felony drug possision could just mean he had Majuarana on his person. But the Sexual assualt issue is concerning. Talk to sis she may not know and should be told just do so carefully. You may need to tell dad to protect her and youself from him however talk to her first. Peace.

well my point may be way off but.....that's what this site is for various opinions so here goes. if his crimal backround is available online that most likely means that he was convicted for his crimes. convicted crimals get punished.....therefore he has probably already been punished and doesn't need you punishing him and looking down on him any more than he has already had. why is it your job to judge others. mostly likey he was honest and open with your sister about his past and she didn't mention it because she was afraid you would react just the way you are and she felt she should leave his past where it belongs.............in the past. from experience with convicted criminals i know that they usually aren't bad guys......just people who have made bad decisions and mistakes......they are after all human...just like you. so i wouldn't past judgment quite so quickly.

tell your sister of his past first before you tell your father otherwise she'll feel that you went behind her back and told about her boyfriends background to your father

I would tell your father and ask his advice, more seasoned and also the best straight answer.
