Give him a gift card to Golfsmith, Golf Galaxy or *****. Then, and this is the hard part for you, but the part he'll love, tell him that you want to go to the store with him, just to shop for golf stuff.

When he's done you can kiss his putter.

A round of golf on a very nice golf course! Or a set of new clubs or a new driver, or a golf trip for the weekend... with a weekend golf trip, you could also come along and get a spa treatment while he plays. My wife seems to like that Idea!

Without knowing his preference of equipment, golf lessons with a local pro are always a good idea. It's a great gift for golfers of all levels. Even Tiger Woods uses a coach.

A golf gift voucher at his favourite store or club. Doing it this way he selects the item of choice and you havent purchased something that will get left somewhere never to be seen or used again
Good Luck

Lessons, or a new putter...ask a pro which one to choose, how about passes to a nice golf course to play on. Or a nice new golf shirt...jacket or hat. There really many things you could buy that all golfers would love.

happy shopping.....and Merry Christmas!!!

I'll tell you what to stay away from. Don't buy any clubs you'd never be right. Buy golf balls, tees, gagets, clothes, golf towels.
