Klmer Ritter asked this question the other day.
I have given it some thought and I think: The first gift was life and the first Christmas gift was the birth of of Jesus. Several people said it was "love" , a good answer. I think the first gift and the first Christmas gift was wrapped in love and tied together with hope and faith. When we accept all the gifts God gives us, then we have our salvation that was given to us by the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus. His love and grace is a gift when we accept it as a gift. No gift becomes a gift until someone pays for it, gives it to someone and that person accepts as gift. Merry Christmas everyone! James N.
