YES!! One of the best breeds in the world . That's why they are used by the blind foundations around the world.
In saying that though any dog that is treated badly could hurt some one.
It all comes down to the owner. If its treated with love and respect it will be the best and loyal friend you will ever have.
Even a nasty dog owner still gets respect from their dog as it only wants to please.

Golden retrievers are great dogs. They are very high maintenance. They enjoy the outdoors, require frequent grooming, and love to jump into bodies of water and can easily be trained to retrieve. If your lifestyle cannot support these needs, it may be best to choose another breed or perhaps save a dog's life at the pound. Dogs require attention and training. Good luck on your search.

Golden retrievers are among the friendliest breeds I've ever come across. My family has had two of them and they are great family dogs. The only thing I don't like about them besides the shedding is you need to bath them at least once a week. If you don't, they stink really bad.

I have a golden and she is the best dog ever! She is amazing with people, kids included, and is super gentle with my two cats. She loves every dog she meets and has never shown any aggression. Definietley not the dog for you if you are looking for a watch dog. They do need exercise, and can be crazy puppies, but they are wonderful dogs.

From everything I have heard about them, they are a great breed. They are easy to train, obedient, and a family dog. Like with all larger dogs, watch the hips when buying one. They can be know for hip displasia just like German Shepherds (which is what I have). Make sure you get a health gaurantee with your dog to ensure good hips. Make sure the parents hips are certified. Thats a definate yes!
We used to have a full blood golden retreiver and it was the best damn dog that we have ever had!They are very smart and good with kids.

they are totally awesome. never heard a bad thing about them. just make sure to exercise them regularly and give them a lot of attention. they are great family dogs, as well.

Golden's are very friendly and do well with people. However, they often have hip and leg problems, and are extremely prone to cancer.
