Romeo - Hearns boxed brilliantly to win a 15 rd decision over Benitez and take the Jr. Mid Title from him. He didn't KO him.

In this we have one fighter at his highest weight and the other boxer at his lowest weight. As great as Arguello was he could not over come the weight disparity, he would be fighting a naturally bigger man. Benitez in a 15 rd unanimous decision.

This is a tough fight if I had to pick a winner I would pick Alexis Arguello by knock out in the 15th Sugar Ray stoped Benitez and so did Tommy Hearns Argullo would keep the pressure on and wear down Benitez and catch him with a straight right and it,s over

Hey Brent! This would have been a very interesting match. Benitez is one of the most clever fighters ever to step inside the ring and Arguello was a very disciplined fighter with a dynamite punch thus the nickname "The Explosive Thin Man" which was exactly what he was. This would have been a classic fight and a close fight in my opinion. I would have rooted for Arguello to win but I believe that Benitez would outbox him and win a very close decision.

at juniour welterweight? hmmmm arguello was a feather weight at the start of the career126, was at his best in my opinion at 130 junior light and 135 lightweight moved up to 140 junior welter for the big pay day but was no match for pryor but who was.benitez won the belt at age 17 in junior welterweight before moving up to welterweight and junior middleweight,in my opinion he was at his best at welterweight, arguello always had trouble with slick boxers and benitez certainly fit that description so benitez by decision but not at 17 yrs of age just too raw and asking too much the 17 yr old gets ko`d in 10but a 21 yr old wins the decision.
