No deception is lying to someone.Having faith in lies is being deceived. The person telling lies himself is the most deceived.

Deception is trying to get another to believe your lies.

Faith is simply belief. It could be in lies, or in the truth. If you have faith in a lie, you are being decieved, but you are not decieving.

Deception is an action, and a purpousfull one at that.

As the one who is being deceitful, then yes, they are putting a 'faith' in the lies and deception they are performing. The one who is being deceitful needs to believe that their effort in being deceitful is being fulfilled.
