Mine was the family's 76 Cutlass Supreme. I was so anxious to have a means of transportation to get me out of the house, I would have taken ANYTHING (like I had a choice)!
I had a box in which I kept all the parts that fell off my car!
I really don't understand parents buying their children cars, but only if the child likes it! My kids will get whatever the budget affords, that will be relatively reliable, and safe. The less reliable the car, the less distance they can go if they decide to run away! Of course I live in a town of about 80,000, and it takes 15 minutes to get from one end to the other. So if they did break down, it wouldn't be hard to track them down.
PLUS, who would want to take away those precious memories of searching for your wheel cover that fell off on the road the night before. Or the time your carburetor caught on fire on a date!

I had a 1980 Toyota Tercel. Ripped seats, damaged trunk and body needed a pain job. But I bought it with my own money for $450 (in Los Angeles) and it was my pride and joy, cause it was all mine. Had it for two years, and fixed up a few things and sold it for $800. :)

We lived in the Mojave barren area in California. i replaced into 8 and my older brother replaced into 9 whilst our dad and mom desperate to purchase a sparkling station wagon. because of the adverse aspects of residing in a barren area, any age can tension as long because it particularly is on airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dust. Our dad and mom desperate to offer the old automobile to the two one human beings so as that we ought to tension the two miles to our bus quit particularly of strolling on the days that we walked. It replaced right into a 1952 Ford custom. together, we spent 6 months thoroughly rebuilding it from the floor up, upholstery, flooring, motor, new paint, each thing. the colour replaced into Sky Blue because it replaced into initially. He taught us the two a thank you to tension and something is historic previous. have been given my first drivers license on my sixteenth birthday and had already pushed over 2 hundred,000 miles because of the fact the age of 8. that's something i'm going to in no way forget.
