Have you seen personally where they're coming from? I've been to Mexico and many places in South America (I can't speak for Russia's sake, but imagine similar things) and can completely understand immigrants risking everything to get to the US. Number 1, they many people do not realize that there is poverty here. My host mom in Ecuador was watching a movie about the Great Depression and asked me where the movie took place. She couldn't believe that poverty ever existed in the US and that it still does. Number 2, the immigrants largely come from shacks made from scraps without safe water or any sort of decent job. Even the $5/hour they get picking vegetables is more than the $2/day they can make in Mexico. Number 3, how can you fix an entire nation when you can't even put food on your table every night? Education is a luxury for the rich and every free minute is dedicated to making money for food. There's no time to plot a coup in the day. Culturally, Americans are taught that if we don't like something we get up and change it and our votes matter but many times, especially in Latin America, if you spout any anti-government sentiment you mysteriously disappear (Argentina, Chile, Mexico, just to name a few). Feel lucky for whatever you have, since 1/2 the worlds population lives off less than $2/day!

Cause every country has a history and their history makes them what they are today.
Theres a lotta people that stay in their countries, mostly the educated ones, the uneducated ones are the ones that come here, cause they dont have same opportunities.
The corruption is so deep in most of latin american countries that if you dare to speak againts the goverment you may end up dead the next day. And nobody wanna risk their life of course.
The problem with latin america is that money stays just in one circle and doesnt get out of there. Polititians steal all the money of the people and that leaves the country with a deficit, in education, health and all the basic service.
Im Dominican and Im proud of being dominican, Im not agree with the guys that rule my country, but what can I do ?? be some kind of rambo and kick them all out ?? its a system that works for the benefit of a few. But the country itself is beautiful and have many resources, but theres nothing you cant do if you're not the one managing those resources. But Im proud of my music, my food and my land and I always go visit.

My Nationality is American, and I'm proud that I live in America, specifically BECAUSE it IS the land of the free and the home of the brave.
My origin-ethnicity is Arab.
And yeah I'm proud to be Arab.
I'm not proud of any of the Arab countries like Syria, Saudi Arabia, etc., but I'm proud that I'm Arab. And I'm proud like that only because over the years arabs have done many great things.
Yeah the arab countries are horrible, and they are led by arabs, but are all Italians supposed to be ashamed that they're Italian because of Mussilini?
It doesn't work like that.
I would do much to better the United States, but I would also do much to lessen the suffering that exists all over the world, including in the arab countries.
I don't support any of the arab countries at all, so I wouldn't send anything to them, but I would support a democractic peaceful change of government.
Actually, instead of "sending money back" to our family in Arab nations, my parents are doing what they can to bring the young adults of our family TO America.
You've just got Jingoism, that's all.
I'm a first generation born American, and my kids are going to be second generation born Americans (on my side, because I don't know about the other side).

They do not have the confidence.
If this country was in poverty, what "can" you do?
It would barely be of any help even if you tried(it would require great amount of money).
You would probably be suffering poverty(tax would be raised, less pays from your job) too and it would be hard to even support your own life and you're saying you're still gonna try and support the government? That's brave(I'd have to respect you for that).
PS: I'm an anti-illegal.

they flee because they only know how to think of a better life not how to fight for one, and so they come to the countries where they do not have to fight for a better life just learn to leech from the country to take and not give anything back at all except to say I can not speak the language so you will have to learn the language that I speak cause I can not get along in the country unless you do and for doing all of this I shall work as a slave in your fields and jobs that you do not want to do for a lot less money than you can pay anyone else to do it and you do not even have to give me benefits, I shall take from your government but I shall pay nothing into it so even if I make less money I still come out ahead cause i can get on your welfare programs. So why fight for a better life when you can steal one

They do it because they can, as they were so fond of pointing out during the marches. Now all they can do is cry and scream discrimination when we show them they can't, such as in the Swift raids. We need to keep on showing them they can't, then they will have no choice but to improve the conditions in their own countries. Let them be proud of their heritage at home, and only come here when they truly want to be law abiding citizens.

I take it you've never been to Mexico. I am hispanic and I still have family in Mexico. I really can't stand the fact that illegal immigrants are here and get everything handed to them, however, it's a very poor state and they don't have much available to them. You should go sometime to see the way they live. I think if they want to be legal than they should go through the legal process of becoming a US citizen. I also don't agree with them coming over here and thinking they could do whatever they want.

i've got faith they dont attempt to develop issues of their very very own u . s . because of the fact america and Mexico make it extra convenient for them to head the border to the U. S.. If we closed the border the stress could build to make reforms and end corruption in Mexico. Mexico has an adequate quantity of materials however the way issues are actually this would possibly not earnings their people till they take charge of their very very own government.

They are stupid, lazy, or impatient. Do people think the US became like it is by people running away from their problems?
What if all Black people said, forget about fighting for civil rights? We will run to Africa.
What if the pilgrims got here, saw that the land needed a lot of work, and decided to go back to England because they didn't feel like making it better?

You can't fix what they don't let you! the average man can only fix by war communism rises that way.
The united States wouldn't allow a Civil War in Mexico its bad for their business. Oil prices would rise!!
Mexico dosen't care about their poor.
I guess when you get down to it their is no Attila or Gengis khan or Joan of arc or leadership in Mexico to start a Civil war.
and they tried fixing it Remember Pancho Villa not much completion.
