you can do this yourself with a simple paperclip. it's an obd1 vehicle, folks, so save the comments. find the aldl connecter under the dash. jumper terminals a and b together with the paperclip bent in a 'u' shape. turn the key to run position. do not start engine. count the blinks of the chek eng lite. it will start with a blink once, short pause, them 3 blinks. this is code 13. signifies diag mode. then it will do 13 3 times total, then run thru failure codes; example code 35 will be 3 rapid blinks, short pause, then 5 rapid blinks. when it's all done with failure codes(there may be more than 1) it will do the 13 again, this means no more codes. it will run each code 3 times, then go to the next one. it will keep on running this pattern until you remove the paperclip, or turn the key off. write the codes down as they blink, then call someone knowledgable and ask them what they mean.
