One of the best things you can do first of all is to exercise. Exercise releases some chemicals in your brain that directly affect how you feel. You can avoid anti-depressants, psychotherapy all together that way.
I would try some exercise first and then if you aren't feeling better contact a therapist who can evaluate you and help determine what you need or don't need!
Good luck and I hope you feel better.

I am bi polar and im alone at the holidays . this is very hard on me. I buy and cook all my favorite foods, I organize the people in my building who will also be alone and we do a pot luck on Christmas Day. I call all my relatives for a brief chat. They are very busy at this time. I don't hang on long but it helps just to hear their voices. I put up a tree. I gets gifts for myself and my dog. I live in florida. I go out and see the lights and the tree in the Park. I got a ticket to the Nutcracker and went alone. I bake a few christmas cookies. I treat myself to magazines I feel I cant always afford. I play Christmas music and listen to the specials on tv. Most importtant, I see a therapist during the holidays. I am lucky my therapist stays in town at that time. It really helps me to keep a list of things I want to tell someone. I also reach out and take blankets and food and special candy to the homeless in a park a few blocks from where I live.

You would be best advised to see your doctor, you could also start by removing from your life the things that are getting you down & subistute them with things that bring you happiness weather they are people, activities etc sometimes just getting out & being active can make you feel better. Good luck, take care.

If you see a depression like diabetes, you gonna understand that is all about a reposition and is what anti-depr. does. Go see your doctor. I did my treatment for 3 years and was the best thing for me.

you need to talk to someone you can trust and a person that would probably understand what you are going through. I like to talk to friends that I can trust or at least see if the depression i'm going through look at it from one end to the other to try make myself better, but if I were you I'd talk with someone who would listen to you and give you good advice.

i agree with just doing things that have always been fun for you and stay away as much as possible from doing things that bring you down.
stay away from news and reading or watching sad movies that will only make your depression worse

DO NOT TAKE ANTI-DEPRESSANTS!!! My friend did, and she's dead; hung herself. Talk to friends, talk to parents, talk to a preacher, something. Just stay away from anti-depressants, razorblades, and rope.
