Most minimum wage jobs pay every 2 weeks. At 40 hours per week $790 for 2 weeks is $9.87 per hour. The highest state minimum wage is $8.50 (San Francisco). At the US Federal minimum wage of $5.15 per hour, $790 = 153.4 hours or 3.8 weeks. Your question can't possibly be accurate in the US. You are in the wrong section for any other country.

If your $790 paycheck is monthly, which would be around 35 hours a week at the federal minimum of $5.15, then they'd take out a little less than $100 for federal withholding. They'll also take out around $60 for FICA (social security and medicare) for a total of around $160. Depending on where you live, you might also have deductions for state and local taxes.

You're 15 years old and you work 35 hours a week? Never mind the tax, isn't that breaking labor laws? If it is just a holiday job for a couple of weeks you will most probably get a refund of any income tax deducted. It would only be worth it if you could do your return at minimal cost. Check out www.irs.gov and click on the FreeFile icon. This might be good practice for later years. Remember, at 15 you are probably someone's dependent so you cannot claim a personal exemption.

How much do you work? Minimum wage and a $790 paycheck? What is minimum wage where you are? Are they hiring?

How frequently do you earn this $790.00? You will pay 7.65% for FICA and whatever your state witholding tax rate is, as well as Federal.

roughly 25% so 790/4=197.5 so 790-197.5=$592.5
