Mine was AWFUL-I hated them, and never plan to buy anything ever from them....hope you don't either. My salesperson wouldn't even let me look at the dresses, she brought me 3 that SHE picked out and was pissed obviously because I didn't find "the one" and buy it that day so she could get her commission. (she was litterally gruntng under her breath) Also, they wouldn't let my mom help me with the dresses-which I thought was kinda important-and also thought it was a little wierd that these people expected me to be ok with having this complete stranger walk into the dressing room with me being half naked and help with something that my own mother was fully capable of. Plus, I can always tell a Davids Bridal dress, they look cheap and very mass produced-I like what one other girl said in here, they are the Wal-Mart of wedding dresses.....very true! Anyway, so just venting.....how was your experience?

BTW-I did get my dream dress and all my bridesmaid's dresses from a privatly owned local boutique and at a great price. The staff their was helpful but let me browse and didn't try to pressure me into anything, I guess they understand that happy brides tell friends!

Wow! Your experience was identical to mine!
I was selected 3 dresses and shoved into a 3ft x 3ft room to try them on. I liked the empire style of one of the dresses and asked if there was one that was similar but with less beading and the sales girl said no.
In that WHOLE store there wasn't a single empire waist dress.
Very mass produced, I felt like I was on an assembly line. As soon as I made it clear that I wasn't buying that day we never saw the sales girl again.

The first impression is always a lasting one, and my very first time I went into that store, I was disappointed. Let me start off by saying that they need to get better staff. My mother and I went into the store, and there were only 2 other customers in the store, so the employees were not extremely busy. It took 25 minutes for someone to finally GREET us, and attempt to help us. The lady seemed uninterested, and kept trying to show me the most least expensive dresses ( I guess she thought that I didn't have any money. HA! to her commission, because I have no financial limit on a dress, I can buy ANYTHING I want!). Anyway, I saw a few dresses that I wanted to try on, told her, and then took a seat while she got my dressing room ready. SHe came back with only 1 correct dress out of the 3. I was sooo mad at this point, and then instead of her apologizing, she states that 'Well, you can't expect me to remember...all the dresses are white!" and then gave an irritating giggle. After trying on the dress, in my heart, I knew it wasn't the ONE. The dresses look and feel cheap, in my opinion. I wouldn't suggest anyone buying one from there, unless you absolutely HAD to.

Unfortunately I think they looked very mass produced as well. While the particular salesperson was just plain rude and doesn't represent everyone I've encountered there, I do, nevertheless, think that for a truly special wedding one should go to smaller shops and find dresses that are unique and are made with much more care. The dresses at David's tend to be very blah so that almost any women can wear any of them and look ok - not great - but ok.

My experience was similar to yours. The fact that they work on commission makes every experience a tense one. I would never suggest that any woman every buy their wedding dress form Davids. If you see a dress that you like, chances are that another designer has a dress that is very similar and of better quality. Dont let rude stuck up people ruin your dress shopping experience! Do yourself a favor and go to a smaller locally owned shop and get a better quality dress that you will love and feel good about buying.

I hated David's Bridal. I went there 4 different times trying to find a dress with no luck. The fitting room was tiny, hardly enough room for me, my mom and a dress. They called me nonstop to "see how the wedding planning is going". I finally found a dress at a locally owned bridal store. I would not recommend David's to anyone.

never been there . . but I know you'll find the right dress keep looking . . I bought mine many many years ago from an individuals bridal shop and they were very nice . . I was served champagne and was the only one in the shop while I was shown every dress in the shop. They explained how each dress could be altered to fit my once size 1 body. I felt like a princess while I was there, my mother didn't participate in my wedding cause she hated my hubby back then,( he's finally grown on her after 18 years). think that while they were more expensive it was worth it and you only get married once so why not splurge.

i wasn't shopping for a dress, my freind was getting married and we were getting our shoes from davids. I went in with my boyfreind and the first girl that approched us and was really rude to us saying how men shouldn't be in a place like this and how it was bad luck. I aske where the shoes were and she looked at me like i was kidding , she was pissed when i asked for different sizes and had to try on 2 or 3 different styles. It was very unplesant. I deff wouldn't go there again!!!

I'm sorry to hear of your experience at David's Bridal. The few times, I have gone, it was so crowded that I didn't even expect to speak with an Associate.
Congrat's on your engagement and will you be needing a florist?
Thanks,
Cindy
