Stay away from mixed drinks. No offense to anyone, but personally, I find it unmanly(not a word, i know) when a guy orders a "fru-fru" drink. Beer doesn't really impress me much either... it's so typical. You can't go wrong with a good scotch or whiskey on the rocks. I really dig a man that likes Jamison, straight up. That's some old school right there. Classy, but not if you're drunk. Drunkenness is never sexy!

I hate beer, too. Hard liquor has infinite variety, of course. For non-hard-liquor drinks, look to ales and ciders. Boddington's is pretty "manly." (I'm a girl and B's is the one more guys drink with me than any other.) Just be sure you get Boddington's cider. The ale is very bitter and beer-like. And they come in almost identical cans.

Also Vermont's Woodchuck cider--comes in what looks like a beer bottle. Sweet, but not too sweet. Not wine-cooler-y at all.

And I can't resist adding that the less you worry about whether or not what you like is "manly," the more confident you will appear. Drinking what you like with no apologies is far cooler than showing your insecurities.

Nothing more manly than a man ordering high end vodka, Ketel One, Grey Goose, etc, on the rocks with a splash of mixer. Any man that walks up to the bar confidently and orders Ketel One on the rocks is a STUD in my book! The confidence really helps as well!

for those who say they dont like beer i ussually offer them a different style of beer, ussually they prefer an ale beer. Other wise some common drinks guys order: Whiskey coke, whiskey on the rocks, rum n coke, martinni (think james bond is the main reason behind this one), Red eye (tomato juice in pilsner style beer), tom Collins, manhattan, Rob Roy

Extra Dry Smirnoff Vodka Martini straight up shaken not stirred

A dry martini," he said. "One. In a deep champagne goblet."

"Oui, monsieur."

"Just a moment. Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon-peel. Got it?"

Lillet is a type of Vermouth that you can still find in many stores. Gordon's is a gin. Where most martinis are made with gin, and vodka martinis are just made with vodka, Bond wildly mixes them both up.

By shaking it, you make the drink cold, which is key for most vodka drinks to taste well. It also mixes the vodka and gin well, giving it a good texture.

The next time you're mixing drinks, try making one shaken and one stirred. See if you can taste the difference!

I too am not fond of beer. I usually go for rum & coke, 7 & 7, long island iced tea (watch out), a nice blue hawiian (really good), fuzzy naval, amaretto sunrise, screwdriver or a butter-dew(butterscoth shnappes and mountain dew).

I'm secure with my masculinity, so I don't care what other people think. I drink what I like.

Almost forgot, a jagermeister/redbull boiler maker....

Jack and Coke, Jameson (rocks or with soda or neat), 7 & 7, Barcardi and soda, Vodka or Gin Martini, Manhattan, Bourbon, Gin and Tonic, Vodka Tonic.

Rules: Anything brown or anything clear.

However, I think you can get away with a Long Island and a Cape Cod. I wouldn't think you were a girl if I saw you drinking a Long Island-I'd think you were trying get drunk and look the other way, but definatly not a girl.

Red Wine-but make sure its a nice wine.

Actually, Ale IS beer. There is such a variety of good beer out there it is too bad that the only stuff people call beer is that yellow fizzy p*ss that they push in mass quantities.

Try a few varieties of good micro brew. You'll see what a difference there is.

Whiskey..if you don't like the taste and want to keep up appearances, sneak away from your buddies and get Amaretto on the rocks. It looks tough, but it has a little less punch and it tastes good. Same color, so you should be able to pull it off.
