I used to work at several bottling plants. Look at the label and see how it was purified. Simple filtration is the cheap way out. Look for reverse osmosis, with a few additives. The additives are to put some taste back into the water. Sodium bicarbonate is one of the additives, but we're talking about something a few ounces of bicarbonate to 500,000 gallons of water. That's about something like 5 ppm (parts per million)
Don't neccessarily go for brand names. One time when I was working on the bottling line of a well known bottled water company, that bottled water by contract for other companies, about mid-shift we stopped the production line to dhange the labels, and the caps of the bottles, for another company. I was in the grocery store a few days later, and the water we had bottled for the other company was 40 cents less per gallon. Bottled on the same shift, out of the same storage tank, same crew.

Top of the line...Mountain Valley Spring Water from Arkansas. It comes in a dark green glass bottles, not plastic.
It is the drink of presidents and top athletes.
One taste and all the others are chemical concoctions.
