Okay so here is an easier way...to see....
Do u love ur parents? yes thats loving them and caring and having really strong feelings towards them because u care so much! but being in love is towards soemone who isnt in ur family and the feeling should feel different than the feelings u have towards ur mom or dad or sister/brother. It should be a little more intense and just a different feeling. being in love is something that doesnt happen very often in life. Maybe twice in a life time! so this type of feeling is very sacred and special. and yes u do not choose who u love, because ur heart decides but many times ur heart can be the most deceitful thing in the world. so always be careful.gud luk i hoppe this hellpszz

I'm sure you area aware of the two kinds of love...there's the love that you feel for your family...and then there's the love that you feel passion and lust.

Sometimes when we date, we get the two confused. You might just love the person you're with as you would a brother...or a good friend. But you're not IN love with them, which means you don't feel passionate about them or want to make love to them.

Being in love is a state of mind, a way of being. The state of being in love is primarily based on fantasy and or physiological sensations. People typically feel "in love" during the romantic, honeymoon phase of a relationship and fall out of love when the person does not meet their expectations and the fireworks are extinguished.

Loving someone is something more permanent and built on tangible things rather than feelings and ideas.

No, you don't chose to love someone or not. But there's a difference between loving someone as a friend or as a partner, but not loving them in a romantic way. It means you still care enough not to hurt them, but the passion is gone.

You can care very deeply for someone, but still not feel anything romantic for them anymore. This doesn't mean the relationship is over, it just means it's in a different place.

There is not enough information about the specific context you are referring to. But, love is thrown around a lot on here.....I almost wish they would put ages or something next to the names or something.

Any way, one of two misnomers:

Infatuation - you think some one is attractive, you think about them all the time,

or they meant

Benevolent, like with a stray cat or something, you want to feed it and help it, you dont want to hurt it, but its not like the cat was exactly what you were looking for and you really love it

There are different types of love that these types of love you're talking about falls into.

Eros love is sexual affection, desire or passion that you have for someone such as a b/f or g/f.

Philos love is affection, care and concern for friends and family.

So it all depends on what category you place the type of love you have in.

I agree w/ the other answers for this question.

Another example is that you can have a place in your heart for a man who is the father of your children (and love him) but fall out of love and, therefore, not be "in" love with him anymore.

First of all, I love my friends, my family, and my classmates; that doesn't mean I'm in love with them because I don't want to date them. Secondly, you can too choose to date someone; I choose to love my sister even when she makes mad and it's a conscious decision.

When you are in love with someone, you love them plus you have a sexual desire for them. Then you can just love someone and not have a sexual desire for them like you mother and father or a brother or sister or your own children.

"In love" implies romantic feelings. "Love" alone does not.

For example, you can love your parents, but not be "in love" with them. Yuck!
