Or will every eye see him? It can't be both. If every eye sees him as he's coming like a theif in the night, then he's not a very good "theif" is he.

Betty Boop - I'm not an Atheist. I didn't take Anything out of context as Both of these sayings are for his return. Could you be a bit more condescending? I don't think I feel enough sarcasm and downright dislike coming from you. You should beef it up some more and prove just how Good you really are.

He will be unexpected, but once he's here, everyone will know. We may look for signs, but no one will know when exactly he's coming.
Check out Matthew 24 and Mark 13.

Coming like a thief in the night only means the time of his coming will be unexpected. But when he does come every eye will see him. Does that clear it up for you. You see you just took things out of context again. You should just say I am an Atheist. I don't believe a cotton picking thing the Bible says enough said. Oh yes read the book of Morons too. And then there is the wedding feast we don't want to miss that. At the wedding feast for the first time they going to serve a big ham. xx

I was taught that they're basically two events. The first "as a thief in the night" is when he comes for His own, faithful Christian And the second coming is when all that are left can see Him.

Yes every eye will see Him and yes it can be both. The "thief in the night" concept has to do with the fact that He will come when we are not expecting Him.

He is coming like a thief - quietly. But everyone will see the results of his coming in the clouds to claim his own. When he comes back to the earth with us after the wedding feast, then everyone will see him.

The one you are talking about is in each of us - and I would say (to steal a qoute) that we are like burgulers sneeking into an empty house.

It'll be like on Cops, when everyone sees the thief hiding under the truck at night.
