Why can't I find any Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maybachs, Rolls-Royces with high miles? Do dealers roll them back? I know for a fact that dealers can have carfax reports changed.

Because many people buy exotic cars as investments, not as every day driving vehicles. The more miles they put on them, the less they are worth, the worse they are as investments...

It's also possible that the engines get rebuilt and the odometers reset; however, there's no real way to check for certain with many exotics, especially if they've been recently imported.

I sell cars for a living.
First, exotics are VERY high maintence, a 3000 mile service can cost $1000 or more, not $25 like you and I pay.

Second, the people that own these cars have more toys to play with so the cars get driven very little.

Third, they are out there, you just have to look hard, I have seen a few higher mileage Lambos and Ferraris, as for Rolls and Maybachs, those are super rare, so finding a higher mileage one is nearly impossible.

Here is an example: My '77 Porsche 930 has 60,000 miles, due primarily to the cost of servicing the beast and buying new rear tires every 15,000 miles(if I am lucky). The service charge at an independent mechanic that is certified to work on Porsches, runs about $1500, and an oil change, all 21 quarts, costs $165. A new clutch costs $2500. So needless to say, I don't put a lot of grocery getting miles on this car, and I can confidently say that my neighbor that owns a Ferrari is in the same league. You just don't find high mileage exotics, and for that matter, you don't want to. Most of these exotics are not sold on the used car lots, rather we sell them through a broker, so you will not see them in your local newspaper want ads.

They can only have CarFax reports changed if they have proof of a discrepancy. The reason there are no high mileage exotic cars is because people do not drive them everyday. You seriously gonna take a Rolls down to WalMart? You seriously gonna drive that Lambo 150K miles and make the value cut into 30% of what you paid? NO, you are going to drive your Mercedes everyday and the Ferrari on the weekend.

High-end cars like that are rarely "daily drivers" and will therefore have low mileage relative to their model year.

Add to that that many high-end sports cars get wrecked by their owners who don't know how to drive them properly and it's easy to see why there aren't many high-mile examples.

High-end luxury cars are more likely to be kept by the original owner for many years -- I know two people who own Rolls-Royces that were bought new and are still running strong over 30 years later -- that the high-mileage examples are still in the original owners' hands.

Dealers can't get CarFax reports changed. You should be careful about making such claims publicly or CarFax' attorneys will be having a word with you..

I accept as true with u . s . a . Boy. genuine activities autos, which come from distant places somewhat, have different automobile DNA than American autos do. commonly, we've made autos that "look" like activities autos, yet in fact are no longer genuine activities autos. they are modifications of older technologies this is extra basic to offer and make earnings from. No-holes-barred engineering, got here across usually in eu and lots of jap autos, are executed with the point to delight a plenty extra suitable, extra recommended, customer base. maximum American equipped and designed autos could in no way final on the Autobahn, the place autos would desire to have the flexibility to maintain intense speeds for long distances. The tension in u.s. for some years became to make autos that are extremely secure at around seventy 5-80 5 MPH. we are actual no longer Bugatti makers right here!! until we get international aggressive, we can go through on many planes, automotively talking. we've some sturdy possibilities, yet i'm no longer able to think of a Chevy undertaking on the Autobahn. are you able to????

They have to be on the road to get miles on them. When was the last time you saw one roll by?
