You could get them sock or scarves or both for £5 in any of the bigger chains, or toiletries and 'smelly stuff' in the supermarkets.

If it's £5 to buy a gift for all the family, I'd go with the choccies or biccies - they're always welcome!

There are lots of things you can do with 5pounds (about $8.00):

1. Buy a plant and plant it in your families garden

2. Scan family photos and put them in inexpensive frames or a nice inexpensive photo album.

3. Offer them each your services for one day (babysitting, cleaning the garage, painting a room).

4. Use your talents and paint them each a picture or write them a song. Or if you know how to knit, knit them each a scarf or hat.

5. Use your money to buy ingredients to make some cookies or deserts.

6. Donate your money to charity in their names and present them with a letter stating that you did.

7. Do one good deed for each of them. Tell them each what you did for them.

8. Write them each a letter telling them what they mean to you. Buy some nice stationary to put it on.

9. Make them a card and put a lottery ticket in each one.

10. Buy a bottle of wine or a box of candy, or a nice loaf of bread, something nice to go with Christmas dinner.

This time of year it's always the thought that counts. If you give from your heart it will be the best gift you can give them.

Wait till Sunday night and go down the Barra's Market - in Glasgow - you might be able to pick up a few items for the family - or what about getting a few selection boxes and giving each member a wee sweetie,,

depends on how many in your family and are you on about individual prezzies or not. Get Monopoly off ebay, you may even have some left over for sweets.
