Yes, I had discussions with Muslim creationists that were literally the same as with Christian creationists.

Yes, Muslims also believe in creationism. The Quran stated very clearly that Allah created the heaven and the earth in six days and rested on the seventh-day. Surat Al-araf 7:54 and Suat al-Baqara 2:65,66
Interestingly the Koran says that those who broke or transgress the 4th commandment will become like apes, or monkeys. In other words thos who do not want to accept the records which says: that God created the earth in six days and made the seventh day as a sign of His creative power, will be like monkeys.
Isn't that what what the evolutionists teach, that there is no God, and that we descended from apes or monkeys?

Of course, however we are more open to the possibilities of evolution. None of us will agree to the evolutionary theory that we are descendants of apes, after all it is still only a theory. However Muslims do not believe there is a rift between religion and science. This can be seen in history when Islam grew and the Middle East developped so quickly in sciences and medicine. However all great empires eventually come to an end, lol.

There is a verse in the Quran that tells us that if He willed it, God could replace us with a people better than us. Who's to say that didn't already happen? Maybe a few times over?

Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all have the same fundamental beliefs. Yes, they all believe in creation. It's the sociopolitical differences that are at the root of today's conflicts. Jesus and Mohammad, according to their alleged teachings, never meant for this religious animosity to exist.

Islam is more hostile to science than Christianity, which is why it was the West, not the Arab world, that was able to use the knowledge of ancient Greece and Rome to launch a Renaissance of scientific progress.

The vast majority of the world's Christians are Catholics, and the Catholic Church was the creator of the modern university in places like Oxford, Paris, Padua, Prague and Krakow. These universities developed the scientific method and launched fields of study such as astronomy and biology. Several Jesuits were leaders in discovering the moons of Saturn and Jupiter, while Austrian monk Gregor Mendel did pioneering work in genetics. The Catholic Church encourages the use of reason to understand the laws of nature, while islam says Allah cannot be bound by laws, hence there is no foundation for science in islam.

So while a minority of Christians (protestant fundamentalists) might be literal creationists, most Christians are not. There is no conflict between reason and faith in most of Christianity.

While many muslims might agree that reason and faith are comeplimentary, there is a very large section of islam that demands a literal interpretation of the Koran.

according to something I just read, they believe in something in-between creationism and evolution.

They believe in science and feel that it does not contradict the Qur'an. But they also believe God is in control of it.
