Cherry Turnovers.
Buy a box of Puff Pastry. Remove one sheet from the box and let thaw. (or both sheets if you have sufficient filling remaining)
Cut into squares -- no larger than 5" x 5" (actually I make mine a little smaller)
Brush, or with your finger, place a little water continuously on 2 of the edges (this acts as a sealer).
Distribute the cherries, along with the sauce in the can, amongst the squares.
At this point, I add a tiny piece of butter -- you don't have to but the dough can be kinda tasteless otherwise.
Fold to make a rectangle -- the sides where water was not brushed onto the sides where it was. If it doesn't seal, brush with a little more water.
Sprinkle sugar on topside.
On a flat surface (cookie sheet) place these in the Fridge for at least a half hour - need to cool them again.
OR
Place them (still on a flat surface) in the freezer. Once frozen, about an hour or so should do it -- place them in a freezer bag for later baking. Bake directly from the freezer.
Out of the fridge/freezer, place them on wax paper or parchment paper.
350 - 375 degrees (F) for about 25 minutes. Keep on eye on them, ovens differ. You will know they are done when they are puffy and have a golden color to them -- remember, the cherries were already ready for eating before you put them on the pastry, therefore no concern about them being undercooked.
Delicious !!

This is the BEST, most yummiest, mouthwatering recipe that uses cherry pie filling ever! Can you tell I love this stuff? There won't be a crumb left in the pan afterward, I guarantee it. EASY CHERRY COBBLER 1 pkg. yellow or white cake mix 2 large cans cherry pie filling 1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped pecans 1 stick margarine or butter, cut into 1/2 inch slices Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Into a greased 9x13 inch glass or metal pan, pour out half of the dry cake mix. Spread evenly with a spoon or spatula. Pour contents of the 2 cherry pie filling cans over the cake mix, distributing evenly. Sprinkle chopped pecans over cherry filling. Pour remaining dry cake mix over the top, distributing evenly (no need to stir). Drop margarine slices all over the top of the cake mix. Bake for 60 minutes, or until top of cobbler is golden brown. It's best warm, but can also be served cold. You can even top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Mmmmmmmm. I want some!!!

If you have just one can, you could make a small dump cake. All you do is empty the cherry pie filling into a small square baking dish and pour yellow cake mix over it. Then you take a stick of butter and cut it up and lay the "pats" onto the cake mix. Put in 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes or until brown. Enjoy and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

The first thing that comes to my mind is "Dump Cake" it's easy and delicious.
Pour the can of pie filling in a 9x13 cake pan or Pyrex.
Sprinkle a dry yellow cake mix on top of the pie filling. (Duncan Hines yellow is my favorite)
Sprinkle with chopped pecans(optional)
Drizzle with 2 sticks of melted butter.
Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes until filling is hot and topping is golden.

Turnovers. Buy the squares of pastry dough, fill the cherry pie in the middle, fold over, seal with a little water. Brush milk on top, sprinkle with granulated sugar and place in the oven for 15 minutes? 350 f. Maybe longer, depends on the dough!! Serve with vanilla ice cream. It sounds so good I may have to do it myself. Nothing is nicer than warm cherries.
