I think that you're full of it. Illegals don't usually write worth a damn, and you seem to have no trouble.
I think that you're just trying to get a rise out of people.
If you're an illegal sympathizer, though, you should really go over to Mexico and try to make their nation as good as ours was before all of the illegals started backstroking over here.

See? given a moral choice, an illegal immigrant thinks so much of America that he's willing to let his kid learn someday that his father thought it was okay to pretend that someone is a citizen, as long as he didn't get caught.
How about telling your kid the truth and then end it with something positive like, "Hey, we'll work this out and someday--when we do what we have to do and learn what we have to learn--you can be a citizen of the United States of America". Try to sound somewhat passionate.

Since you obviously have at least a few anchor babies why don't you apply for your son and yourself to become legal? And your wife if she is illegal too. Is there some benefit to remaining illegal that you would like to share with us? Hmmm......Or is it just a matter of pride for you that you will do as you please and laugh in our faces? Will your family be the next one in the news crying about splitting up the family? Why don't you be decent and do something about it instead of putting your oldest child through hell because of your selfishness? Or you and your family could go home together instead of trying to win sympathy by making a fuss and screaming about discrimination where none exists.

The time to tell him is when he is old enough to do something about it. When the time comes, arrange to meet with an attorney who can handle the matter for him.
In the meantime, a young person has enough to deal with, like growing up and attending school. It would be unkind to burden him with the knowledge before he is able to participate in righting the wrong for which he is not responsible.
If he asks, tell him the truth. Tell him what his options are, including joining the armed services. I know people who have taken a "fast track" to U.S. citizenship through military service.
In whatever way you can, raise him to be a good citizen and be sure to guide him so that he will not become involved in any activities that might cause him to lose the opportunity to become a citizen. A good clean record is very important, and especially important to him.

NO way dude! If he finds out that he's illegal from a store manager, it would be devastating and embarassing for him! You're his dad, kids like to hear stuff like that from one who'll accept them for who they are (Parents). Well...not always, but in this case, don't let him suffer the shame...explain to him. It will be hard to tell him but I think he'd admire the courage you mustered and understand the situation he's faced with. After all, when life throws a lemon at you what do you do?!?? Make LEMONADE!!! Lols...It's gonna be fine....don't worry!

Get legal, then you don't have to hide, lie and skulk around. Try visiting the following websites and give it a shot: http://www.usa-official-green-card.org , http://www.immigration-visas.com or http://www.legallanguage.com/immigration/usimmigration/usimmigrationguide2.shtml .
As for your son, wait until he's old enough to communicate and understand before dropping the bomb that his dad is a criminal and hiding from the INS. Nice example, "dad." Get legal like thousands have done already.

You should let him know and be taking actions to get him citizenship.
Or just wait until he is deported, alone, to a country that he doesn't know. Or if he is lucky he gets Mom and dad to go with him and the citizen children get to be raised by the state. Lucky them!

Until he's older?
That'll give him a big shock thinking that all his life he lived as an illegal. It's better to tell him when he doesn't understand too well.

since obviously you have internet access i would start your own investigation to see if there are any programs you son can get into to try to either get a green card or become a citizen. i would also tell him about his status about age 15 but hopefully by then you have a few plans for trying to keep him here. i hope it works out for your son, as I'm sure it would be traumatic for him if he had to go to a country he doesn't remember to live. Good luck

So what you are saying is that you want to lie to your son.
Yeah OK sure let him believe he is something he is not. There won't be any resentment in the long run.
