Dogs bark for many different reason. A bark could mean a greeting, warning, playfulness, communication, and more. Like, they could just give a playful bark. Or, if they want something like food they might bark. When you get home they could bark. And when there's a dog coming close to your home, they could bark from excitement, fear, or aggression. There's just a lot of reasons. I'd search a library, or the internet

They communicate like that. Sometimes they bark because they see someone or other dogs. Sometimes they bark because they're hungry/thirsty or they could be barking 2 go outside or 4 a walk.

For comunitcating with other dogs and for protection of their owners.

After wolves were first domesticated, there owners would reward them for alerting them to sudden dangers. Encouraging them to bark when sensing danger. So that is why dogs bark.

That is how they talk.

You should get a book from the library, about what different kinds of barks are thought to mean. It's really interesting.
