The Personal Promise Bible has your name personalized into the text in over 5,000 places in the New Testament with Psalms & Proverbs. Personalizations include: first name, last name, spouse's name (if married), city and state. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks

Wouldn't including personal names take away from the message of the Bible? Or do you feel it's acceptable when used in certain psalms and proverbs?

It's yet another example of how legends and stories get distorted over time. If you were able to find an 'original' compilation of what has now become the bible, it would be nothing remotely close to what you purchase at a store now. After being written and rewritten by hand throughout the centuries, translated, interpreted, so on the original stories are no longer intact. Try telling a friend a story, he can tell a friend, and so on. After a few people the story is nothing like what started. You're making a bigger mess of what is already there.

It sounds rather hypocritical, even disrespectful to have a book of your religion with your name used throughout if you really didn't take part.

This is merely a novelty item. If you need a Bible that tricks you into thinking it's speaking directly to you, you may wish to reconsider your religion (seriously). You shouldn't need something like this, especially considering that the publisher is just out to make money. The cost of this "Bible" (once your name is in it, it is certainly no longer the Bible) is ridiculously high.

Wait, I'm confused. Is John Smith the new king of Israel in this personalized Bible? Does god smite Detroit? How do they plan to stick your name in there?
