Importing .aiff files into iTunes?

I borrowed a CD from a friend intending to import it into iTunes, but the files are .aiff and iTunes will play it, but not import it. How do I import them?

Go to Edit | Preferences | Advanced | Importing. There you can choose the format in which iTunes will import CDs. That's all I can think of.
