You can search for a bill of sale on-line and input the info in. I would do this at a bank as they have notaries and can verify all requirements are met. And you have a witness to the sale if it goes bad somehow. Also, clean out your car!

Make sure you get a certified approved cheque or Cash....Don't accept a personal cheque. Yes you have to write-up a bill of sale, you can probably find one online somewhere that can give you the info you require.

Usually you need:
Date of sale
Sale price
sellers name
buyers name
Car make, model, year and color
as well the most important thing is the VIN number (vehicle id Number) usually found on the front dash drivers side (visible from the windshield) or the drivers door sticker.

Also, you should note vehicle sold as is and is free of liens just to cover your butt.

Both Parties should sign it.

Also, ensure you cancel your car insurance once the owner has taken ownership and has shown proof he has the car insured properly and has plates and registration before he drives off with the car as well and remove your plates and return to DMV if required.

Good Luck

You have to transfer the title to him/her by signing the back of the title, remove your license plate and registration stickers, and hand over the car keys. You should go to the DMV the following day to surrender your license plates or reregister them under a new vehicle. Also, call your insurance company to drop the policy on the vehicle you are selling or you may end up in deep doo doo if the new owner gets into an accident while thge car is still insured and registered under your name. It's quite simple, but make sure you do it right.
