Catholicism is one form of Christianity, and all Christians believe in one God (a trinity, with Jesus Christ being both God and man) and in an afterlife. One important difference among the various branches of Christianity is how one achieves happiness in that afterlife--faith, grace, good works,....

Catholicism is a sort of Christianity. It was the full faith, until Martin Luther began the Protestant Reformation in 1517, and a team of Protestant church homes sprang up. Catholicism isn't a cult, greater each and every person is Catholic than the different faith. It maximum actual is Christianity, it particularly isn't any longer something human beings dispute.

No where in the Holy Bible is there mention of purgatory. I'm not sure which Pope thought that up but it's not in the Biblical text.
As a Christian, I pray directly to God the Father, through Jesus Christ. I ask Him for forgiveness directly.
As for any other differences...well it's up to God to judge, so I will leave that to Him.
Merry Christmas!

Catholicism was founded by Jesus Christ himself, and Christianity was founded by some Jewish sect or something.
Another difference i have noticed, Catholics have more liberty to make decisions on what's good and bad, while on the contrary Christians are not allowed to do anything that looks bad to society and often judge catholics fot that liberty and free will.
(for anyone that feels offended, I'm sorry but it's the truth)

One big difference is that Catholics believe in purgatory, which means that if you haven't committed a "mortal" sin, then you soul will be purged in fire (purgatory) and then after that you can go to heaven. Christians believe that once you die, you go to either heaven or hell, and that if you believe in Jesus, the slate is wiped clean and your sins are atoned for. The Catholic belief is that in purgatory you must pay for your own sins on some level. This belief is also effective during life in the form of confession and penance. These Catholic doctrines are completely contrary to the Bible.

Catholics is like the Pope John Paul II who never spoke of being born-again.
The Pope John Paul II never made any public profession of faith alone in Jesus Christ. The Pope engage in endless praise of Mary.
Catholics placed there faith in the traditions and manmade doctrines of the Catholic religion.
Do you think they will be was save? Keep in mind, If your beliefs concerning Jesus Christ is not right, then your faith is wrong.
There is nothing in the King James Bible or the Catholic Bible about keeping the Seven Sacraments to get to heaven.
There is nothing in the Word of God about the Immaculate Conception of Mary.
There is nothing in the Bible about the Rosary or praying to God through Mary.
So why do Catholics do it?...because they are being taught the commandments of men...Catholic Religion Commits Idolatry.
There is a reason why faith is sometimes preceded by the word "blind" because faith can never be produced from falsehood. You cannot have a counterfeit faith without a real one.
*Carmac,
Pope being infallible but God said, "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9 Your Pope is just a man from earth just like us.

Catholicism believes that Mary, The Vatican Church, etc. are all necessary for Salvation.
True Christians believe what the Bible says. ONLY!

When I was a kid in the 1960 the Catholic church was teaching that only Catholics go to heaven. Non Catholics went to hell by default. And the pope was inflaible.
I don't think they teach that stuff anymore. Catholic doctrine is a moving target. Twenty years from now it'll have all changed again.

ELYZ - Jesus was a Jew and he certainly had no intention of founding a new religion.
