I would say that it is appropriate. In Iraq, some of the Muslims had Christmas trees. The typical Muslim is not anti-Christian.
There is no reason for a Christian to be anti-Muslim. The vast majority of them are very nice people.

Jesus is noted in the Holy Koran as an important prophet, therefore wishing her a Happy Christmas would not be inappropriate, but remember to also wish her a happy Eid on New Years Eve/New Years Day

I'm a nice muslim lady and you can wish me a Merry Christmas, no problem! I wouldn't get offended because if you celebrate it, then I understand that you want to wish glad tidings to all the people around you. Merry Christmas to you too! =)

Would you be offended if she wished you a happy Ramadan? No? Then wish her a Happy Christmas. If she is very nice, she will understand the spirit of goodwill you are trying to express.

You see, around this time of year you have Hanakah and Ramadan and Christmas and Kwanzaa and all kinds of things. The best way to sum it ALL up is to say "Happy Holidays!" Have a lovely holiday.. then you won't have to worry about what they celebrate. Hope that helps :-)

I think that most will recognize the intentions behind any well-wisher...promoting the spirit of good-will and comraderie among mankind is not exclusive to any religon...Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah, from a family that celebrates both!

Not all of christmas is about jesus. There are trees, and lights, and presents and honestly what does that have to do with god anyway. I actually found a very funny video on you tube about just this topic. It's by mr. garrison from south park and is called merry F*ing christmas, I say check it out. lol

Ignore fighteraces answer I didn't give him the right to be abusive on my behalf. If he is an example of the forces then god help us. Say merry Christmas if you want to your Muslim friend I am sure she will take it with the goodwill intended.

I don't think most muslims have a problem with Jesus or Christmas. It seems to be the people who aren't Christian or muslim that have the problem!
