DWI does have a statute of limitations. If you have a warrant pertaining to the DWI, then the government has already started the process and statute of limitation probably would not apply.

Statutes of limitations sets the maximum period of time the government has to start prosecution. Statutes of limitation on DWI / DUI vary from state to state, but it's at least a year. Also, in some circumstances, statutes of limitations may be extended.

Statute of limitations depend on the state and local laws. The most common I have heard of is seven years.

Failure to appear has no statute of limitations to my knowledge, so if the warrant was issued because you failed to appear on the dwi charge even if the original charge has expired you can still be arrested and brought before a Judge.

A family friend was recently arrested AND extradited two states away for a probation violation. She spent almost 3 months in jail before her hearing.

The reason it probably showed up recently is the new law enforcement computer system.

Do the crime? Turn yourself in and get it over with. Computers NEVER forget.

No limitation for the warrant. However; when you go to court the judge may throw it out, if you have no other violations of the same nature.

Good Luck!

You provide insufficient information for anyone to answer your question. DUI/DWLI laws differ based on the state, and even the locality, so you must provide that information if you expect an answer.

In Canada there are no expiry dates on any warrant. They last forever!!!!!!!(or until you die whichever comes first)
