her in a house my MIL bought that the SIL was supposed to pay for. She works FT for about $10/hour. She has three children who are receiving state benefits because their father (her ex-bf) has been in prison for over a year. Does anyone but me think all of this is screwed up and a bad case of priorities not in order?

If I am asked to help by getting groceries for MIL because she only gets $900/month in disability, it makes it my business.
She is getting her boobs and belly done because she feels bad about her body after 4 pregnancies.

It does sound screwed up and priorities not in order, depending on what kind of plastic surgery it is. If she had scar tissue on her face or burn injuries that prevented her from feeling confident and was a hinderance in her carrer, then maybe not . But probably she didn't NEED plastic surgery and that money could have been better spent on those unfortunate children's education, college accounts, books, etc.

The SIL and MIL both have their priorities screwed up. What can you say? Like mother.....like daughter.

Probably but it has nothing to do with you. If other people want to pay her bills it is their business.
