I think I do have ADHD. But how do I tell my mom I want to get tested for it? She has said before that she would never put her kids on meds for stuff like that so is there a point in even getting tested now? I am afraid to ask her. I need serious ADVISE!

you dont always need meds. my psychatriests has a paitent who she just had perform mental exercises.

I'm with your mother. Meds are not the way to resolve issues such as ADHD. Besides, I do not believe in the diagnosis of ADHD or ADD. It's simply an excuse for doctors to prescribe those meds which makes more money for them and the pharmaceutical companies.

Many people have below average aptitude, but can improve that average by hard work with mental stimulation and learning skills. The term ADHD is used for lazy minds and many people take advantage of that diagnosis for an excuse for their own laziness. People would rather risk their health for an easy fix by consuming meds than to do the hard work required to overcome the problem.

This is a sad world we live in.
